Overheat, overload
By Lindsay Flye
I recently bought this blender elsewhere for $50! Not only does it not blend very well in general, it overheats VERY easily. I've ruined several things including fragile things that should be able to hold up in a blender just fine, such as mayonnaise. It literally boiled it. A blender should be able to run for 5+ minutes without overheating.

terrible
By Bill
Bought this machine on 2/15/2011 at a local Kmart store. Returned it on 2/16/2011. It's a terrible machine. Tried making a strawberry smoothie but the blades spun for only a couple of seconds before they stopped rotating although the motor kept on working. Don't buy.

Do not buy
By Michael J. Malia
Do not buy this blender. The blade assembly fell apart on me after 6 months of use, stripping the nut that holds it all together. (other reviewers have complained about the base falling apart/exploding/etc., so this isn't exactly a rare occurrence.) One would assume you could go down to a hardware store and replace it, but no, it has a reverse thread and is thus a 'special order' item. I called customer service at Black and Decker about a replacement part, and 14 days later they send me the wrong part. Now I'm waiting for a new, and hopefully correct, replacement part to arrive, which will happen a full month after I first contacted them.In short, the product itself has a flawed design and the Black and Decker customer service people are incompetent. Spend your money elsewhere.
