1Blender is mediocre, customer service is 100% awful
By klnosaj
This blender, supposedly noted for its ability to chop ice and make smoothies, is not very good at either. I make a post-workout smoothie with this machine five times a week and I spend more time stirring my frozen berries with a wooden spoon trying to get them in just the right place where the blades will do what they're supposed to do then I do using the blender. I should say I USED to use this blender to make smoothies but the sealing ring came apart after only a dozen hot water hand washes. And that's when the really bad things started happening. I went on the Kalorik website to order a replacement sealing ring and, knowing how poorly made they are, thought it prudent to order a few. At check out I was astonished to see that I was being charged $4.99 for EACH $1.99, one ounce rubber ring! I sent three emails to customer service inquiring about whether that was standard policy or if it was a mistake. I NEVER HEARD BACK. I finally called customer service and spoke with someone who promised me there was an error and that he would get my replacement parts out to me. My credit card was charged that night. Now, here it is THREE WEEKS LATER and I'm still waiting. I call customer service again and, turns out, they never shipped the replacement parts! I very much wish I had never bought this blender. It's not very good and when something goes wrong you'll be out of luck. Best to look elsewhere for quality products and quality customer service. In short, Kalorik = fail.

2already dead
By Mother of 2
Ours is already dead. We bought per Cook's Illustrated recommendation. It started smoking after less than one year's use, and it is defunct. It was good while it lasted...

1Overrated

This is the first product review I have ever written but I regret so much that I bought this blender that I feel I have to warn people. I'm a senior citizen; I've bought many blenders. They've all worked. I had to replace my last blender because the mixing jar fell and broke. Without a doubt, this is the worse blender I've ever purchased. It does a good job on ice but it can't even pulverize a banana! I noticed that if you want your smoothie without any lumps, it's best to use the pulse setting (crush ice setting). I can deal with this limitation but the fact that the mixing jar moves around when I'm making a smoothie unnerves me. With every blender I've ever had, the mixing jar doesn't move. I just don't feel comfortable using this blender and would have returned it months ago if I had bought it in a regular store. I've had it for five months and am through. This morning it was doing its usual dance while I was using it and it's too scary. (The blade fixing ring is screwed on tightly so this is not the cause.) Spend your money on something else and buy your blender in a regular store so if you have problems, you can return it easily and without any hassles. This is not a knock on Amazon, my favorite "store." It's just that, judging by the reviews I've read on blenders, you never know if you're going to luck out or not--one person's great buy is another person's nightmare.
