3It works, but lots of cheap parts prone to failure
By Karl R. Hoft
The Magic Bullet 22 Piece with Bonus Travel/Storage Bag is a handy set of kitchen tools rolled into one motor base device. The initial concept of the product is ingenious, but the actual product is cheaply produced plastic with small tangs that will eventually break off rendering the unit less and less effective as time passes. The motor unit must be used as instructed or it will overheat and fail. The mugs, and blender portion have small plastic tabs which lock it into the blade device, while the blade device loosely snaps into the motor base. The reduced price and travel bag were the selling features for me. All 22 parts can be stored and remain clean, ready for use, while in the travel bag. The travel bag is quite large though and will require ample out of sight storage space.Although the plastic parts are meant to be dishwasher safe, I do not recommend that they be washed in an automatic dishwasher due to the extremes in water hardness, detergents, and heat cycles, all of which are not standard throughout the planet. I strongly recommend hand washing of all plastic parts in mild dish soap and rack dry to preserve the integrity of the plastic parts.Overall the unit will create all the dishes that are advertised on television, and possibly do a few more tasks that were not mentioned. Had the mating parts been made with a stainless locking band over the plastic, the longevity of the parts may have been extended, but since that is not the case, the usable lifetime of the plastic parts is dubious to say the least.

5A Really great spice grinder
By Bobby Beaver
Although I don't find that this product does everything the infomercial says (What does?) I find it to be a really useful kitchen tool that I use everyday. The flat blade makes an excellent spice and coffee grinder. The flat blade also whips aiole/maynaise and whip cream quite well. The cross blade (regular belnder blade) does a fantastic job of blending and chopping smoothies, bread crumbs, nuts, hard cheeses and purees for sauces.I like the individual cups as they allow me to mix or grind several different concoctions without having to clean a blender in between. All in all a great multipurpose tool that doesn't take up much space on the counter.

1I can't wait for this to break so I can get myself a real blender.
By Rachel Ling
The only thing this is good for is making individual-sized cold blended beverages. For everything else, it is useless. If you are unfortunate enough to get your hands on The Magic Bullet, I recommend you NEVER puree hot soups in this. In the manual, it says that when blending hot liquids, you should remove the clear centerpiece of the lid so it can vent. If you do this, you will regret it. The Magic Bullet only comes with one speed setting: obnoxiously loud and fast. So the second you turn it on, the height of the liquid goes up like crazy and everything will come flying right out of that center (yes, even if you fill it below the max line) and burn you. Not only that, the lid itself sucks, so even if you're smart and leave the centerpiece on, your intelligence is no match for the stupidity of the people who designed a lid with a spout that allows your hot soup to escape at attack you.You can't even puree hot soup in the small blenders because the pressure will build up and push the soup through the blade. Yes, the blade sucks THAT MUCH. They're also hard to clean. Mine started leaking only after a month of use. I get drips all over the counter, and it's really gross. It's black juice, probably because foodstuff is rotting in there that I'm unable to clean out. And when you find yourself chewing on smoothies, you know they're just not worth the effort. It's not good at chopping, it's not good at juicing, it's not good at food processing in general.Bottom line: If you're thinking about getting a blender, don't get this one. I know it sounds really cool with all the stuff that it comes with, but half of them are useless. There are much better options out there. And if you absolutely have to have a magic bullet, get the one that only comes with the small blenders.
