Quality Blender for a Low Price!
By PolyOWannaCracker
First things first. I am not paid to write reviews. Half of my reviews have been disliked because of my straight forward attitude and honest tone. What can I say, I get right to the point. Now, back to the blender! The HealthMaster Elite is pretty awesome! My mother owns a Vitamix and someone else I know a Blendtec. Based on my usage of those two expensive models and another cheaper model, if I had to guess, the Healthmaster would come in third. Please keep in mind that this is the 2012 model version and not the original model that has frozen hell over because of its awful reviews.Out of the box I was very pleased. The Jar is not made of glass, YAY... which means it is light weight. It is also BPA free, YAY... (for those of you who are worried about other types of plastic, I am not one to really care about those)... The Jar sits on top of the base and does NOT tighten. It just sits there. How might you ask? It's real cool and if you don't understand what I mean by "it just sits there", then you probably shouldn't be operating a blender. Don't worry about it falling over and hurting someone. The blender automatically shuts off if the Jar is lifted, which is pretty awesome too! The blades are not straight edge which is unique and the lid for the Jar fits on nice and tight. There is of course a plastic piece that you can turn and take off in the center of the lid to add more to the mix if you need. The Jar has measuring on the side, which is a must. The Blender comes with a disc and recipe booklet too!!Upon turning on the blender, it is red when the Jar is not in place and blue when it is. Once the Jar is set into place as it should be, the screen lights up a bright blue. The screen is very easy on the eyes. You can set a time to blend and set a speed. There is also a setting just to turn it on and off as you please. So far, that is the most I have done. I blended 1/2 cup vanana yogurt (not banana, vanana), mineral water, 1 peach, 1 cup blueberries and a tablespoon of flax seed. I blended for a total of 12 seconds. At the end there was 1 peach slice and 1 blueberry that hadn't blended. That is pretty darn good if you ask me. I used the 3rd speed, which is low. I did smell the "new use" chemical smell from the motor. Usually that "manufacturing" smell lasts more like "twenty uses" until it goes away. The older model was complained about due to a motor smell... I actually have first hand knowledge of a motor smell. My jack lalane was accidentally plugged into a bad outlet and my juicer overheated and the motor blew up. Now that smell is completely different. The smell is similar to that of the George Foreman Grill. When I first bought a George Foreman Grill the smell was strong, but over time it went away.Frankly, I don't care about the smell. My first smoothie was awesome... My second will be awesome... and my third will be awesome as well! The packaging was very smart. You can always tell if a company cares based on how they package their product. The recipe book even had cardboard to keep it from getting bent. That is awesome! If I ever have any issues with this blender, I will let you know first hand. I have no problems telling a company that the product sucks. If you are like me, you work hard for your money, and like to put it to good use.

Well made unit
By Louie
I specifically bought this blender to make green shakes. I primarily throw half spinach and half frozen fruit along with 1/3 water and blend away on setting 1 then 2,3. The unit is huge, does what the infomercials say and cleanup is a snap. I have not done anymore with it as again, my goal was to make green shakes my regular blender could not make. I highly recommend it for that and anything else (ie crushing ice, soups, etc) is a plus.

Perfectly priced juicer/smoothie maker!
By Kristi96
I am equally happy with my unit! I've had it for about two months and drink about a green shake a day! Kale is now my new best friend along with blueberries:). I also made a wonderful potato based soup in it! This machine is great! The only concern I have is if I let it blend too long- it will warm my shake- but I believe that may be because I don't pay attention to the time and settings options. Overall, I love it :). I am hoping to purchase one for my sister soon!
