Incredibly loud!!!!!

I live in a small space and wanted a smaller food processor and a blender and this seemed to be a great solution. In principle it is a really good idea but the manufacturer should have included hearing protection. I use my earplugs when I use this machine. It's as loud as a skill saw. The blender design is such that there are always chunks in my smoothies. I can't make a full recipe of meatloaf in the processor.I'm going to have my old Cusinart DLC-7 repaired and go back to it.

Infrequent use, but still broke in under 18mo

As stated in the title, I received this a bit over a year ago. In that time, I have perhaps used the blender a half dozen times, and the food processor two or three.Today, upon using the food processor to mix up some hummus, I saw a puff of smoke, a spark, and the tell-tale whiff of ozone which will always indicate dead electronics. I had high hopes for this appliance, but it will be finding its way into the trash bin, and I will not be purchasing the Cuisinart brand again, despite having always heard good reviews of their products.

I got this blender combo for Christmas and I loved it for the grater and food processing it did. But the other night I was making smoothies and about half way thru crushing the ice with the ice crushing button the blender (full mind you) popped up off of the rotating blades which made both sets on the base and the blender melt and shred each other now the unit is completely useless!
