...to even the score
By Wb Johnston
..did a lot of research before buying the Samson. Watched a lot of YouTube videos which comparedthis juicer to several models by Omega. The prices for a comparable model were the same...there weretwo deciding factors:(1 The Samson (unlike the Omega) will protect the motor from over-heating and burnout.(2 The Samson - again unlike the Omega - has an optional, very sturdy, attachment for pressing flax seed sesame seed, etc oilsBoth the Samson 9005 and the Omega models yield about the same juice quantity. However, when I read the reviews on Amazon.com I was struck by the fact that the Samson was not rated ashighly. The overall average was lower mainly because there were fewer reviews and one of these was extremelynegative. The negative review stated that juice leaked from the motor end of the machine.Well, the truth is, I had to learn how to line up the feedtube/grinding end properly with the machinehousing. If you don't get it just right, the ring that holds them together will not make a proper seal.I too thought mine was defective...I just had to learn the patience to get it right. This is a precision tool. The negative review stated that the juice yield was extremely low.Again, I'm sorry, but it pays to read the instructions that come with the juicer - and watch the DVD.Also watching someone use this machine on YouTube is highly instructive. The instructions explicitly say thata) you should process small amounts, cutting vegetables into small pieces. BTW, this also dramatically reduces foaming and pulp in the juiceb) you should use 'stringy' vegetables (like celery) to push softer fruits like lemon and apple through.I almost never write a review.I understand that occasionally someone gets a machine with quality control issues - but after thoroughlyenjoying mine, I just thought I ought to even the score. This is a superb juicer.

Satisfied with the Samson Advanced
By Tim Chanda
Well, this is the first one I've purchased, however I've used several different kinds in tryouts.I must say I am Impressed. The only CON is that it has a small chute so you have to cut up everything. But It's worth the time. I made my own V8 (a full quart) and Dr. Oz's Green Drink in under an hour. I was impressed at how dry the pulp came out. It was as dry as an expensive 2 Gear. And unlike other Masticating or Centrifuge juicers, when running the pulp through a second time, I got maybe a drop or two of Juice. Don't have to do that messy job twice.I cut up a carrot and dropped the pieces in the chute and it juiced them while I cut up the next carrot. The only time I had to use the Food Pusher was with the lettuces, Parsley, and Spinach.I short cutted the V8 because I know that V8 is 87% Tomato Juice from concentrate (a.k.a. Tomato Paste). My V8 Loving Mother couldn't tell the difference, even though the only sodium in mine came from the celery and vegies.Cleaned it in under 3 minutes. Didn't have to whack it either (See below about the Manual)Beginning to end, using the other machines, it took the same amount of time, just the work was different. And, My V8 and Dr. Oz's Green Drink taste better, and yielded nearly 40% more juice. The pulp got mixed into my Vegetable and Herb Gardens soil. (The worms are having a field day!)I recommend this juicer for the Novice that want's inexpensive, but not cheap. And definitely for Avid Juicer's!Samson "Advanced" Multi-Purpose Wheatgrass Juicer - BLACKThe Manual, on the other hand, contains deplorable 'Engrish', Contradictions to specifications, Omissions, and Confusion. On Page 7 it states "This is for 120 Volt system only, make sure to use a converter if using on a 220 Volt system," while on Page 13 Under Specifications it shows "120V/220v 50Hz/60Hz." Which is it? Only 110 or 110 and 220? In the juicing guide it tells you to set the nozzle to position 0,1,2,3, but it nowhere does it tell you where this is or what the numbers mean. I had to look at the pieces closely to see the numbers embossed on the Auger cover with a little arrow on the nozzle. Experimentation shows 0 means very juicy pulp and 3 means very dry Pulp More particulate foam for the screen on the juice container to catch. The manual tells you to not use force, but in a tips section it shows 2 pictures (without caption) with a little mallet and a Screw driver on either side of the Juicer assembly Locking ring on the Motor. ??? Use no force but now you're showing me how to Whack It?!In the recipes they tell of Peanut Soup and Pumpkin Soup. They show and tell you how to make Peanut Soup, but not a word is said how to make Pumpkin Soup. I Love Pumpkin Soup (especially with a Great Blue Pumpkin)and I know how to make it. It's a completely different process than Peanut Soup. In another they say "Make a Dough." This is for Steamed dumplings. So I use WHAT to "Make a Dough?" It appears the Manual was written for Koreans and translated (poorly), and for a previous model. The warranty page is for the previous model (10/5 warranty). It does come with a printer piece of paper saying the manual warranty information was not updated to 15/15 warranty and tells you you have to register within 90 days of purchase. However the warranty registration page states in eloquent 'Engrish' that you don't need to register as long as you have your receipt. ???OH, and it tells you what the other nozzles are for, but nowhere does it tell you HOW!?! Uh, wait, it does mention Noodle making in the Recipes.Oh, the spare fuse is taped into slot in the bottom of the motor housing. OK. How do I change it.I'll update this if any problems arise. I don't they will though.Cheers,BuBu
