Good for small quantities

I've used this attachment to make sausage for over five years now. It is great for the beginner or the occasional sausage maker but as you start making larger quantities it starts to fall down. The biggest problem is that if you are stuffing anymore than about three pounds of sausage it just takes too long. The grinder is great for 3-5 pounds of meat but the motor begins to heat up after that. If you are just starting or will only make an occasional batch of sausage then this is the grinder/stuffer for you.The quality of the equipment is top notch. Very robust.

This product attaches easily to the mixer and works like a charm. Purchased to grind meet for making sausage and it works great. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to do the same. It is well worth the money. Cleans easily and stores in a small box.UPDATE!!!!!!After using just three times I have started to get metal shavings in my meat from the grinder. It appears the shavings have come from the end point of the shaft that fits loosely in the end. It ruined $40 worth of meat in the process.I contacted KitchenAid and they are sending a new unit to replace this one. Hope the replacement works better than the first.
