5Solid, quiet juicer
By William Steinberg
The Champion is a great juicer, especially with the optional greens/wheatgrass attachment. The Champion excels at banana ice cream soft serve, juicing carrots, apples, ginger, watermellon.Yes, celery fibers will require frequent cleaning. The machine is built like a tank, and will last forever. The downside is the weight of the machine, and the necessity to use the optional greens/wheatgrass attachment if you want to get the most from wheatgrass and greens.Making nut butter will generate a lot of heat, so freeze the parts and chill the nuts to start with a lower temperature. You can get a juice press (for $400) that will squeeze out the remaining juice from the pulp. Also, the juice has some pulp left in it. If you want, you can run this thru a nut bag.The alternatives are the Norwalk $2,300 or Twin Gear ($500). I find the Champion to be the best juicer for the money. If you have Cancer and can afford it, get the Norwalk, otherwise the Champion with the optional greens/wheatgrass attachment is good enough. Skip the centrifigal juicers, such as Acme or Jack LaLanne, as these do a poor job on greens.

5Choose Your Juice Path First, Then Buy Accordingly
By NoPushover
I own this juicer and I find it to be a wonderful appliance (and I'm no fan of having a bunch of appliances cluttering the kitchen). Instead of giving you a bunch of 'data,' I'll share some brief context which has me juicing merrily along with the Champion, never looking back.I decided to go against some former advice that had served me well with larger purchases. People had suggested "Spend you money on your second __________ " when it came to kayaks, motorcycles, etc. The rationale being that once you get some 'saddle time' with the purchase you learn what you like/don't like. That advice has served me well in the past. For this, I looked at the cheaper juicers around $100 or so. Lots of plastic parts and mixed reviews left me questioning whether I'd be getting a robust juicer experience and at the end of the day would I have a sturdy appliance to keep using or re-sell. I didn't want to look over my shoulder and ask 'What if...'I went straight to the Champion after a little research. I concluded that no juicer will do everything perfectly and - if I bought the Champion and didn't dig juicing - there was a healthy market for a lightly used one that would be close to the equivalent of 'eating' the cost of a cheaper juicer. Heck, 10 year old models were selling for $150+ in some places!Onto my experience:The Champion is a powerful, high-revving and quiet machine. Sure, it takes up some counter space and is a little heavy, but it's very beingness boasts a commitment to juicing! When it comes to juicing, it does more than most tasks with aplomb. Leafy greens, not so well but once you know that you have a choice or two - buy the leafy attachment, use less leafies or buy a dedicated wheatgrassy-type juicer. I chose option 2 and happily munch away on kale leaves. Some folks' complaints that aren't mine:Froth - I may be simple, but it seems a logical product of a high-revving motorized blade that squishes stuff. I purchased the Triton Juice Bowl and found when pouring into a glass, the liquid pours out from underneath 90% of the foam.Leafy Greens (see above) - I simply decided to accept this tradeoff without buying the accessory from Champion. I considered it, but the reviews weren't great and I don't feel like I need more 'gear' at this point.'It Clogs' - It's a machine, it has physical limits. Shoving odds n' ends down the shoot with brute force and ignorance, you'll get frustrated. Finding it's sweet-spot and doing simple things like simple prep (cutting, chopping) and recognizing 'cleaning' veggies (I use juicy cucumbers) to clear the path will soon become second nature. (When I get fussy, I head to the nearest juicing joint and after the drive both ways and the $6.50 pricetag, I come home and hug my Champion!)'It's Messy' - I find cleanup a painless, quick process. The component parts are simply to assemble and disassemble, the build quality solid to boot. One thing I love about it is that I can easily see into all of the (very few) nooks n' crannies and direct my rinse where need be. It's a snap. So, I jumped in and couldn't be happier with my Champion (nicknamed 'Piglet' because of its looks). I'm using it as a weight loss aid, substituting a meal a day - sometimes two - with outstanding results and without aching hunger or my usual 'grazing' on any and every thing to satisfy my cravings. My joints seem to hurt less, but who knows...let's just say your mileage may vary.

4Works well
By TD Karantsalis
The Champion juicer works well especially for making carrot and apple juice. It is much easier to clean that our old Acme juicer.
