Don't buy this thing

30 days 2 hours... That is what it took for this juicer to break internal motor gear, and it is 2 hours out of warranty. Called the customer service but could not get an RMA. Granted that I used the juicer couple of times each day and it was fun to watch how it squeezes oranges, it was a big disappointment that internal parts do not match up to external design.If you make orange juice out of fresh orange once in a while, perhaps for Sunday brunches, then this can be a good machine to have as it will last about a year. If you drink more frequently, then don't buy this good-looking outside but cheap-inside machine like this. (BTW, this is the first time I write product review - so frustrated).

as the description suggests, it is "hands-free," meaning that you slice the citrus, close the lid, and press the squeeze button for every half-citrus. Interesting concept, had it worked longer. Lasted about 3 weeks after light use. It was my first time using it with a grapefruit. It looks nice, but cannot be used with grapefruits as the grapefruit is a little too large for the machine (despite clear advertising on the box that says it is compatible with all citrus fruits). The motor should be made more durable... otherwise, who would buy a citrus juicer only for oranges? (At least not me anyways). However, one thing to note is that I bought mine from Brookstone, and their customer service was good, and they immediately sent me a pre-paid shipping label and gave a full refund.PS. If you buy from Brookstone, note that you cannot return a product bought through Amazon.com to one of Brookstone's stores. They somehow have a different billing system for their own retailing network and orders through Amazon. You will need to contact the customer service center and ship it back in.

I am so saddened by the breakdown of this juicer. It was perfect -- oranges, grapefruit, limes -- so easy to juice and enjoy. I have had it for exactly one month. I have used it only about six times during this period and it was perfect. If I had written the review last week, this juicer would have rated five stars. This morning I cut a dozen Valencia oranges, looking forward to a nice supply of fresh juice with some to share. When I put the first half on the cone, closed the lid, turned it on and pressed automatic, it began but stalled out halfway through the process. I was so frustrated!! Here I am now with a dozen oranges already cut and ready to be juiced. Now I have to do them by hand. The redeeming feature in all this is that Brookstone, the seller, is very kind. They offered a replacement, which I declined for a refund. The seller rates five stars. I must admit that I did read the only negative review (April 8), but I thought he must have just received a defective item, especially since all the others were so positive. It is uncanny that my juicer also broke down exactly on day 30. If I had waited another day, I would be outside the refund option period. My advice to others considering this product is READ AND HEED ALL REVIEWS.
