Why pay more

At the price Amazon is selling this unit for you cannot lose. I tried the Vitamix and Blendtec and both are great but the B2500 made my smoothie smoother. The base unit seems better built the carafe is not as nice as Vitamix, consider the price at Amazon and unless you have money to burn the Omega b2500 for $219 is the best blender deal out there. If the carafe was not so tall I would give it 5 stars, you can order a 64 oz backup carafe and still save hundreds from the other awesome machines.Update, anyone who spends hundreds more for the 2 big names, I assure you, you are throwing away good money. I have been using this machine for a couple weeks and the smoothies are much better than the ones I made on the other blenders. I had to use the tamper with the Vitamix, a little throttle control on the Omega and no messy tamper to clean. The Blentec I tried kept shutting down and in my opinion the Omega and Vitamix are both much better made machines.You missed out, Amazon had this for $200 for a short time, snooz and you lose.
