Bodum Bistro Electric Two Speed Citrus Juicer, Black
Product Description
A glass of fresh juice in the morning is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. That is just one of the many reasons you're going to want the Bistro Electric Citrus Juicer for. First, the Bistro sits higher than other juicers so you can finally fit more than a thimble-sized glass under your juicer. Now you can enjoy a nice tall glass of juice; you can never get too much of a good thing, right. Another good reason: a drip-stop that keeps the juice from dripping all over your kitchen counter and making a sticky mess. And finally, there is the cyclone function. No more letting all that good pulp go to waste. After juicing your oranges and grapefruit, put the lid on the juicer and press down on it; every last bit of juice is squeezed out of the pulp at high speed. We wouldn't want you missing out on those extra vitamins. The Bistro Electric Citrus Juicer is made from plastic, silicone and stainless steel and comes in black, orange, red, green, and white with Bonus Pavina Grip Glasses.

Way overpriced
By D. Scott
I really wanted to like this juicer, but I was quickly disappointed.Pros:*It's quiet.*It's easy to take apart and wash, and the relevant parts are even dishwasher safe.*The glasses are very nice (if a bit thin), stackable, and bigger than I expected. They're the highlight of the product, actually. (Update: Both glasses spontaneously broke within months. They weren't dropped or otherwise subjected to any trauma that I know of. One developed a mysterious hole near the bottom, and the other suddenly developed a large, leaking crack near the bottom.)Cons:*The juicer cone is not very aggressively constructed. I found that I really had to push hard and wiggle the orange around a lot to get it going.*The juicer does not turn very quickly. I think using a manual juicer would be just as quick.*Though this juicer is 100 watts, it bogs down and strains if you push very hard (which it cautions you to not do).*The "cyclone function" does not come anywhere near to extracting "all" the juice from the pulp, as they claim. It's only a little faster than the regular juicing speed, and it did pull out a bit more juice, but I was still left with a heap of sopping pulp in the strainer.*Because the performance of this juicer is really not much better than a manual juicer, it might seem that it would be useful only for someone who would be juicing a lot of fruit at one time. But, per the instructions, you can only use this juicer for three minutes before you should stop and let it cool down to "room temperature." (I never sensed that it was getting hot, so how could I tell when it had cooled?) Given how long it takes to juice a single orange, you might be able to juice two oranges (one glassful) at the most before having to wait. This isn't a machine that will let you blaze through a bag of oranges and produce a pitcher of juice as breakfast cooks.Overall, the Bodum Bistro juicer does indeed juice and is well designed for easy cleaning, but considering its price, large size, and so-so performance, I can't recommend it. Amazon offers other juicers that are highly rated and cheaper. In an electric, you might consider the very reasonably priced (and far more versatile) Black & Decker CJ525 CitrusMate Juicer, the even cheaper (and higher powered) Oster 3186 Juice-n-Serve Automatic Citrus Juicer or the Tribest Citristar Juicer; or go low-tech and cheap and try the aggressive cone on the Oxo Good Grips Citrus Juicer.

Just An Old Fashioned Citrus Juicer With A Motor
By Tante Maren
I know the Bodum name, because they make the greatest electric burr coffee grinder that I've ever owned! Bodum is a Swiss company who make simple, basic appliances that usually serve a single purpose, as this citrus juicer does. This citrus juicer is exactly like the small glass hand citrus juicers that my mother and grandmother used in the 50's and 60's, except with a motor! I personally love simple basic kitchen things and this juicer is very simple. The quiet motor is completely sealed in the base. The top has the old style wedge shaped form that the halved orange, grapefruit, lemon or lime sit on. All you do is hold down the fruit half on the wedged form, and it spins the juice out, just as if you were twisting it on the old fashioned hand held types. There is also a dome cover that you can place on top of the citrus fruit half, and when you push down on the dome, the motor spins the rest of the juice out of the pulp at a higher speed. Pushing on the fruit half or the dome is actually the on/off switch. If my mother or grandmother had this in the fifties and sixties they would call it a wrist saver!I use this juicer more on a weekly basis, than daily. If oranges are on sale, I'll make a full pitcher of orange juice. If lemons are on sale, it's lemonade. Grapefruit juice is delicious as well- not to mention a great calorie burner for anyone wanting to keep their weight down. This juicer is limited to citrus fruit only- it's not a juice extractor which juices everything. We had a juice extractor years ago, and they are very expensive and harder to clean than this simple basic juicer. The few parts are easily removed and cleaned in your dishwasher or by hand. There are no sharp parts to clean. For anyone who loves basic, simple appliances that create basic plain citrus juices, you will enjoy this Bodum juicer. Both the juicer's plastic body and the set of juice glasses have a rubbery covering for a nice firm grip. I love the great bright colors they come in as well- they really brighten up your kitchen!

Perfect Citrus Juicer
By masch
I made the decision to juice oranges and grapefruits because all the available O-J's have way to too much sugar in it.So I purchased this juicer about 2 weeks ago. After ten days of operation I am 100% satisfied. It juices grapefruits (big and small) and orange of all sizes in a very efficient way. The motor is strong and it never stopped during operation. It is very easy to clean (also dish washer safe) and all of the components are of high quality. The design is very slick and contemporary.A nice feature is also that you can close the spout, so when you change glasses during juicing you won't have a mess from spilled juice. The cable is long enough and it stores nicely underneath the juicer.Another nice touch is that it comes with two matching glasses.
