The Best yet

If your looking for the best in value, performance,and liability, look no further. I've had several juicers,& lemons. The shute Sunpentown CL-851 Professional 850-Watt Juice Extractor is wide mouth so very little slicing if any is needed. More than enough power with this 850-watt. The extractor filter is all stainless steel, no plastic to discolor or break. Clean up is a breeze also. I wash by hand except the extractor filter which gets put in on the top rack of the dishwasher. Quiet too. You'll love also the juice jug included too.Annabel Hall, Mackay, Idaho

Sunpentown CL851 Juice Extractor

For the price, this unit appears to be a very solid appliance. The base is aluminum and the extractor filter holder and filter are stainless steel. However, after 3 weeks of use three times a day making carrot juice, the plastic fin at the bottom of the feed chute broke off. The next time I used the juicer the motor quit. I sent the unit to Sunpentown & am waiting for its return. The customer service seems to be good, as they told me that both the plastic cover and the motor were replaced. Nonetheless, I'm really disappointed that the unit only lasted three weeks before needing repair. They apparently have some design & quality control issues.

Works Fine

I have had the unit for about 9 months. It is still working fine. The motor is powerful and can pretty much juice anything. The machine itself appears robust. One exception may be the plastic latches which hold the top cover with the base which contains the motor. They have not yet broken, but I suspect that it will probably happen one day when the unit is dissassembled for cleaning at which point these latches are particularly vulnerable to being hit or caught into something. It is quite easy to clean except in some very sharp corners where food get stuck and the use of a sharp thin knife is necessary to remove it. Overall good unit, does the job right. Comes with a cleaning brush.

Juice Forever!

I bought one of these in 1977. And it's still in excellent condition after about a million (more or less) glasses of juice. What more can you ask?

Well, perhaps easier cleaning. Pulp gets wedged in the basket and you need a stiff brush to get it loose. Some dishwashers will do the trick, but you may end up scrubbing. Thus four instead of five stars.

If you need to make more than two glasses of juice, you'll probably have to stop and empty the basket of pulp before continuing. The Champion juicer spits out the pulp while juicing and might be a better choice for those who have large families.

Nevertheless, this Waring juicer (they bought out the old Acme brand) gets every drop of juice from your veggies and fruit. Don't even consider a cheaper juicer, as you'll pay the price in needing more produce to come up with a good glass of juice. Bon Apetit!

heavy-duty juicer !

This is much better than those little wimpy juicers that are basically disposable.This one is made for Waring by the Acme company who has been building quality commercial juice extractors for years!This unit doesnt have automatic pulp ejection but it has a powerful motor thats not likely to burn out.The pulp can also usually be easily peeled away from the screen so you may begin another round of juicing.Just make sure you clean the unit immediately after use,otherwise the pulp gets hard and sticks to the surfaces and is difficult to remove.I have an Acme unit thats similar to this one and I use it all the time!As a result I`m healthier,more energetic,more regular and even have better skin! And remember,store bought juice is pasteurized as required by law and has no food value or enzymes.So make your own juice and get all the benefits that nature can provide! Enjoy and good health to you!

Happy Juicing

This juicer is everything I had hoped it would be. It extracts every last drop of juice from your produce - if you use it correctly. The trick is to let the machine run for AT LEAST 5 minutes after you no longer see any produce in the chute. I tried to use the included filters, the result was less than desirable. Yes, cleanup was just a hair easier, but I did not get anywhere near the amount of juice that I got without the filter. The juicer disassembles easily for cleanup, the strainer basket takes a little care to clean. Due to its design, it is not possible to just scrub and rinse. You will have to use a papertowel or sponge to get the last pulp out. I would strongly recommend to wash the parts immediately after juicing, letting the pulp dry is not the best idea. The chute is a little small, my only complaint with this unit, otherwise I would have rated it five stars.

a superb juicer: excellent build quality, easy to use, easy 2-3 minute cleanup, very quiet, fast, produces a whole lot of juice, works fine with leafy veggies as well. the juice is not warmed up in the process (a major point), and TASTY!very minor gripes: quite a bit of foam, but that is true with any juicer; the white plastic will stain, but that's not a functional problem; I would prefer they had made the parts that contact the food from hdpe instead of pvc but I've never noticed any off flavor.summary: if you juice a lot, just skip the cheap (or expensive) junk and get this. there are very few other products that are even in the same league; breville is also ok for some stuff, but if you want a masticating juicer (and you know you do) get this one. did i mention the 10yr warranty?

Joyce Evans Is Misrepresenting Champion-Read On

Whoever the reviewer named Joyce Evans is, she has a real problem, and it isn't Champion. This reviewer has gone on Amazon and other review sites with the same misrepresentation: that Champion doesn't support its older juicers with parts.The Plastaket company, owned by the same family from the beginning, introduced the Champion in 1955. It was the same, now classic, design, using a large and very powerful GE motor turning at ~1700rpm, as opposed to 3500-16,000 rpm on a centrifugal juicer. Looking at the juicer, the feed/chute part, the cutting cone and the screen are made of high-grade nylon as opposed to the cheaper and easier molded plastic on today's juicers. With use over the years, the molds for these parts simply wore out and new, visually identical parts were made. However, this is a precision machine and the new parts were different enough that they don't fit the very oldest juicers.My Champion was purchased nearly 30 years ago. After reading this woman's entries here and elsewhere, I called up Plastaket. As with any juicer heavily used, the cutting mechanism will dull over time and should be replaced every few years. The entire assembly was still available for my juicer, as I expected. I spoke at some length with the company and brought up this woman's work online. The change in the parts was explained to me; they readily stated that their very oldest juicers don't have an inventory of parts.I ask other readers: how many small appliance manufacturers keep parts past a very few years? What do readers think of the probability of getting new cutting baskets for all these Juiceman and LaLanne labeled juicers 10 years from now, much less 30 years from now? The only juicers that I know of with enough history to check, are Acme/Omega (they use the same cutter wheel, still readily available) and Norwalk (at least for most parts for this $2000+ machine).Though of course Ms. Evans doesn't bother to mention the age of the Champion to which she refers, re Plastaket it must be a very, very old model. This woman states on her profile that she is some type of 'professional' and 'educator'. This 1-star rating combined with her refusal or inability to even review the machine should nullify her review. I have no problem if this person doesn't like the machine--who knows what she is thinking? After seeing this very same, quite unfair byline on more than one juicer review site, I can't decide whether she's some type of Champion weirdo or just a nut.

wonderful machine, works easily, cleans up easily, the best

I have owned a Champion Juicer for several years now and still love it. It makes great juice and the type of juice I like, with some pulp. I used to have an Acme juicer and discovered when I got my Champion that there is a difference between juicers. The Acme juicer had no pulp, more like the juice you see in the store which if you look at the reviews for the Acme juicer, people love it. It does a good job and I had an Acme juicer for 20 years. The Champion Juicer that I have now was gotten because someone recommended it via the extra pulp it gave so that sounded interesting and I have not regretted the change out of what machine I use now. I can do carrot juice with the carrots right out of the refrigerator and no warm up. The machine handles cold veggies very nicely. The "shoot" that you put the veggies into is wide enough for those bigger carrots that you don't have to take time to cut them up first. My vegetable preparation is very minimal. The cleanup is very quick. I always hand wash and dry the pieces to insure they fit properly. I have never had any problems with the machine. I read the manual first before I started so probably the one aspect that is different is greasing the metal part before you put the machine together which isn't a big issue. It does take a little muscle to hold the screen down while you are putting the machine together so if you are 80 you might want to get a different juicer. It has a safety feature that if you don't have the machine put together properly, it will not turn on. I find that extremely helpful because I tried a Jack LaLanne juicer before this machine and didn't have one piece put on exactly right and the machine started up and broke the piece quickly before I even had a chance to turn the machine off. So I can really appreciate the fact that if I haven't got the screen on completely or have the underneath piece backwards, the machine will "tell me" and I salvage my machine and my wallet. So there are advantages as to why a juicer is designed a certain way if we can see the "vision" of the reasoning. My brother is interested in a juicer and I anticipate Champion will be the choice as per cost. Juicers are not cheap so get one that works for you to start out with and it will be with you a very long time. I also noticed that Amazon sold the individual parts for this machine so if you want backup pieces, the option exists easily. I can't say enough praise for this machine as I really adore my juicer. If I had to buy myself another juicer, it would be this machine. Very highly recommended.

Great little juicer!

When I first opened the box, I thought, uh oh, seems rather cheap. But it is great! It just zips through the oranges! I wanted something that would be quick and easy for my family to whip up a fresh glass of juice in the morning, and this is does the job. My 4 yr old granddaughter was thrilled to make her own juice, it is that easy. I like that the juice drips down into a pitcher that pops off the base and can be put on the table for breakfast. It puts a lot of pulp in the juice, but we like pulp. If you don't, it is simple enough to pour it through a strainer or colander before you drink it. This little baby takes those citrus fruits right down to the rind, so you have to watch you don't over-juice and make your juice bitter. Quite powerful!I already have one of the big boys - a Breville juice extractor. Love it! But who wants drag that big heavy thing onto the counter, then peel oranges in the morning just to get a glass of juice? This is quick, easy, and a great bargain as well. You don't need to spend a fortune to get a great product. We have made a full pitcher of juice in a couple of minutes without any slowing down of the motor. There are two sizes of reamers, which is handy. And it fits compactly under my counter.Just a note if you get one - there is a tiny band of cardboard that secures the motor for shipping. It is on the center post under the place where the reamers fit on. If you don't remove it, the motor won't come on when you push down on the reamer to make juice. I thought the machine was broken when I first tried to use it, and there is no mention of this thing on the instructions. As for the shipping, it came in just a couple of days, which I appreciated.

An excellent little machine.

I have very productive grapefruit, orange, and lime trees on my property and this year has been the best ever. This little machine does all it promises to do. I like the pulp so I just removethe few seeds I get in the filter and pour in the leftover pulp, filling half gallon bottles of the orange and grapefruit juices without a wimper from this little $15 baby. Cleaning is a snap under the faucet and air drying before I put the machine away. I just wish I hadn't waited so long. Incidently, I have 2 or 3 appliances from Aroma and have had excellent results.

The motor for the juicer broke within seconds of being turned on for the first time. The juicer was not handled by me in any way that was rough that would cause the motor to break within seconds of the juicers first use. I started pushing an orange onto the juicer and there was a clicking or snapping sound in the motor. The motor did not turn on after that. I would not buy this product again. I would have given the juicer zero stars, but giving an item zero stars is not an option.

Still new but loving it.

I am tired of searching and searching for decent juice at the store and then overpaying for it. I decided to purchase a juicer and so far have not been let down. This juicer works great, easy to assemble, easy to clean. All parts that need to be cleaned are even dishwasher safe. I was thinking about purchasing the Jack Lalane juicer but have heard the reviews of how tough it is to clean. I think this was a great choice. I did notice that it helps to run the pulp back through and you get way more juice out of it but big deal...I can handle that. I have already recommended this product to others.

It Works, It Really Works!!

Ok, here's the deal. Been looking to update my 20yr old juicer that still works to a new one with the bigger food feeder so I would not have to waste time cutting up my fruit and veggies. Brought the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Deluxe at Costo, and took it back two days later because it kept stalling and jaming while juicing one carrot. I was shocked. My old juicer has never stalled while juicing anything. I exchanged it for the Oster #3167, and this one works perfect. May be a little louder then the Jack lalanne, but so far it has no problem juicing anything we put in it. Easy clean up, and a good amount of juice. also half the price of the Jack lalanne. I paid [...] at Costco. So far we love it.

Decent juicer for the price.

I got this juicer from Kohl's on sale for 38.00. I was looking to buy a nicer one but they range anywhere from 100 on up. First impressions were a sturdy construction and nice design. The 450 watt motor should be sufficient enough to handle most fruits an vegetables. Upon using it for the first time, it wasn't too loud. It juiced well however, the pulp was still a little wet. It wasn't surprising considering it isn't a highly reviewed juicer. Cleaning was a breeze, it only had a few parts to clean and they were easy. Overall, it was a decent juicer however I would rather have one with a stronger motor and extracted more juice.
