Best yet!

This is the third hand blender I have owned, and is by far the most solid, smoothest running and easiest to clean. The brushed chrome construction looks great and is also easier to clean than plastic versions. Handy features like detachable base, included mixing cup and extra long mixer are thoughtful and useful. The motor is smooth and powerful - it is the Audi V8 of the hand blender world. For the quality, brand and power, $30 is an absolute steal.

Well ok, maybe I am not all shook up so much as BLENDED up. I purchased this immersion blender after my older no name brand unit purchased at Wally World died in the middle of blending a pot of hot soup. I like that you can wash the blenders blade assembly in the dishwasher and the stainless steel shaft is not stained like so many of the ALL PLASTIC models. Another thing I love is the power of the unit and the sharpness of the blades; they will reduce a pot of cream of broccoli soup to a smooth consistency in nothing flat.Oh and when I say broccoli soup folks, I MEAN broccoli soup. I put nearly two bunches of steamed broccoli in my soup and I only chunk it prior to blending with the immersion blender. This blender will puree` the soup to a perfect creamy texture in nothing flat. (Reserve a few pieces of the chunked broccoli to add back to the soup for texture purposes) I have also used it on my potato and asparagus soups with equally great results.If you are looking for an immersion blender with lots of power and a "NO STAIN" Stainless Steel shaft then IMO, you cannot go wrong with this model from Cusinart.Happy Blending!Ciao!

Cuisinart makes TERRIBLE hand blenders! They work well, but have an Achilles' heel...

We are now on our SECOND of this CSB-76BC model, having bought two because the price was so good. That was in February, and it's now July.This follows at least three other Cuisinarts, and they all have had the same problem: while the body of the machine may be nice and sturdy, the motor's strong and the blades do the job nicely, the drive shaft is connected with a REALLY CHEAP PLASTIC piece. And this WILL strip, and when it does, you'll be throwing out that otherwise-wonderful machine.The definition of insanity is repeating an action many times, expecting a different result. I readily confess to being insane, in that I keep thinking that maybe the next time, Cuisinart will have decided to salvage whatever's left of their reputation with the addition of one more piece of metal to their immersion-blender design.Don't be like me, please. Disregard the reviews written by glowing new owners, and consider how long you want this purchase to last.

Good powerful blender

This blender works basically as well as the VitaMix. I'd say the only negative in comparison is that this blender doesn't have the "tamper" that allows you to push food down into the blades while it's running. This only matters if you are making a really thick smoothie though.Also, if you worry about unproven science, this product is not BPA free.

This is not a cheap blender, but I'd been so unsatisfied with the cheaper (household-type) blenders I'd had in the past that I thought it just might be worth a shot. Was it? Absolutely! I am in love with this blender. I use it almost every day, for smoothies. I know it could handle veggies, but so far I'm just using fruits. It is really powerful, not anywhere near as noisy as I feared, and super easy to clean. And it has exactly what I want -- no more, and no less. I find two speeds and no extra attachments to be perfect -- exactly what I want to spend my money on. With this product you're paying for the simple tasks to be done to perfection. I hope this blender has a long life -- and I predict it will, because all the key parts are metal and the plastic parts are really nice -- but when it finally does give up the ghost I will replace it with another of the same. If you're on the fence, let me say "go for it -- you'll be glad you did."

Where can I start on this blender... I have come to notice that finding a good blender based on reviews it pretty tough. Well that being said, if you are reading this you are have found it... first! This thing bleeds quality. From the secure top down to the aluminum coupling that secures the heavy duty bearing assembly. The Vitamix uses plastic in this area by the way. The switches flip easily and with the right amount of force to let you know this blender was built to last. The large rubber feet keep it from walking, which is common among high powered blenders. This is not the variable speed version. Some of the other reviews I have read are comparing the Vitamix Turboblend VS to this model and that is not a fair comparison. The regular Turboblend competes with this model. Omega has been making commercial blenders for a subsidiary company for years, but they are just now getting into this market here in the US. Another thing I want to note is why there are other choices out there something you want to consider is my opinion based on my research: I thought about the Waring brand but I can't trust a company that makes subpar low level blenders and then they high powered blenders as well. Read some of the reviews in regards to service issues and you will see what I am talking about. I almost purchased a Oster Versa which seems like a good unit. Then I run into the same thing as the Waring brand. Oster makes lower quality blenders and tries to push them as good products. Why they may last for a year or two under normal use. I want my money to last. That's important these days. With this blender you can make soups, smoothies and nut butters. The blades "pull" the food down to the blades. Clean up is a snap. Just add a couple of drops of soap and run it. I have yet to run into anything this blender will not blend. Buying this blender will give you peace of mind because you are buying it from a company that has made household appliances for years and they will stand behind their products. Try the Omega 2hp or 3hp blenders and I promise you will not be disappointed.

This Excalibur dehydrator has exceeded my expectations. It makes great organic, "less sweet" fruit rollups and dehydrates cooked broccoli to a crunchy treat. It does make more noise than a fan so make sure to put it away from your bedroom if you will be running it overnight. Make sure to buy the Paraflexx sheets sold separately if you intend to make rollups. The recipe book is very helpful and quite extensive. I'm delighted with it and wish I had purchased this dehydrator sooner.

I wanted to write a review after immediately trying it and an then do an update (in the near future). I have had the 5 tray model (2500) for three days. I was hesitant about getting the 5 tray since everyone says it is not large enough and to get the 9 tray. Since I live alone, I opted for the 5 tray. It's a nice looking machine with minimal parts. The trays are a little flimsy but sufficient. I had heard a lot of people complain about the noise but I don't think it is loud at all. Maybe the 9 tray has a larger fan making it loud but the 5 tray is like a box fan on medium speed.The first thing I tried was Kale chips. Since kale is a leafy produce it is a bit high so you have to take out three trays to fit which only leaves you two trays of kale (Which isn't very much). I guess you could squash another tray in there but didn't want to try that for my first attempt. Already I am wishing on the 9 tray.Kale came out pretty good. You really need to try and get the leaves as uniformed as possible since the smaller ones dried first and the larger ones were still a bit chewy in spots. Obviously you could leave the larger ones in longer. The yield was nice size bowl but would really like to have done more.I know for almost all the other items: fruit, jerky, veg's., they are flat and five trays will be enough.Next, I tried beef jerky. The EXC did a nice job but again, keep an eye for the proper time. I did mine for 6 hours and it was bit tough. I prefer them a bit more chewy. And, London Broil was better than Eye Round. Still experimenting on "with the grain" or "against".The I tried an onion bread. Was in there for 15 hours and was cracker like (which I wanted). The EXC did a nice even job on them. Now I am doing an apple fruit leather, apples, grapes and pineapple.Cons: The one thing I didn't like was when I was doing the kale, I had one tray on the 2nd level, and one on the 4th level. I definitely had to rotate the trays (top/bottom)since the bottom tray had more moisture than the top. I also rotated front/back for the heck of it. I was surprised that the trays NEEDED to be rotated. This is why I took off 1 star.As I mentioned, I wanted to give a first impression on this dryer and after I get more experience, I will give an update.

This is a great dehydrator that I recommend for all people who would like to save food in an economical way. The food is very, very tasty and also very convenient to use. Be careful of dehydrating onions though. I did and smelled up my house for weeks! The fan is loud and annoying to me but can't be helped. My kitchen is in the open right by the living room so we moved the dehydrator to a back bedroom and set it on a foldable table. That worked great until I did the onions and that stunk up the entire guest bedroom and I tried opening windows, washing bedding, putting out baking soda, and even coffee to try to deodorize the area. I also tried opening up windows and blowing fans--still have the smell. So, be careful of what you dehydrate.

The EXD500B by Excalibur comes with 5 trays, a total of 8 square feet of drying space. The adjustable thermostat temperature control ranges from 95◦F to 155◦F making it safe to dehydrate meat for jerky. The fan, heating element and thermostat are in the back of the unit, so cool air is drawn in, heated and then distributed evenly over each tray. This patented Parallex Horizontal Airflow is exclusive to Excalibur and helps the food to dehydrate faster, retain more nutrients and look and taste better, without tray rotation. Since 1973, Excalibur has been made in Sacramento, California. Over the years, Excalibur has taken the lead in advancements related to the mechanics of dehydration including air flow, heating dynamics, and materials.
Any dehydrator will dry food. An Excalibur dries better, faster & safer thanks to Excalibur's patented Hyperwave Fluctuation technology. Ordinary dehydrators produce constant, unchanging heat causing 'case hardening.' Basically a dry surface with moisture trapped inside – the perfect environment for yeast, mold and bacteria growth. With the Excalibur Hyperwave Fluctuation technology the air temperature fluctuates up and the food's surface moisture evaporates, then the air temperature fluctuates down and the inner moisture moves to the drier surface. This keeps the food temperature low enough to keep the enzymes active, but the air temperature gets high enough to dry food, overcoming yeast, mold, and spoilage.

It is a mystery to me which excalibur dehydrator this is, with timer, as it shows on the picture, or, without timer, since it does not mention a timer in the description. It also does not say if there is a warranty with the dehydrator, which normally there of course would be - in particular since this is sold as new - not refurbished or demo. Since it is such a good price, I actually called up Excalibur, in the hope they would be able to shed light on this. Unfortunately the manager there has never heard about the EXD500B and said it can not be an excalibur since they never made one with that 'number', they also said it can not be a refurbished unit since these are only sold by Excalibur, nor can it be a demo unit. On hearing this I called Amazon, who, unlike all previous occasions and previous excellent experiences notwithstanding, seemed not to understand what my questions were regarding this unit. More research on the internet reveals that this is also sold for this price by other vendors, who call it a 'black friday' price. If anyone can make more of it then me, I would love to hear from you which excalibur dehydrator this is!
